Design of three format of 3D Extruded Pasta - Concept x Artisia by Barilla
This collection is conceived as an evolving project, potentially dedicated to all the regions of Italy. Each pasta shape becomes a three‑dimensional narrative of its territory, inspired by local architecture, symbols, and culture.
CASTEL DEL MONTE
Famous for its octagonal layout and for being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Castel del Monte is a 13th‑century fortress located in Andria. The ‘basket‑like’ shape allows for a wide internal seasoning.
TRULLO 3D
Moving toward the center of the region, here is a reproduction of Apulia’s iconic architecture, recreating on the plate the landscape of the Itria Valley. The shape is hollow inside to allow for filling, and flat on top to accommodate a decoration.
PUMO
Continuing further south, in the Taranto area, we find another regional symbol. Inspired by Pomona, the Roman goddess of fruits, the pumo represents symbols of immortality and prosperity.
