DATA WATCH
This hybrid-watch is the first smart-device designed to protect user's online data.
The main function of this watch is called "Privacy Teller": you can be aware of your online privacy level, just looking at the "dashboard" of the dial when you connect your smartphone to the watch.
Featuring the minimum amount of technology to achieve this functionality (Low energy bluetooth 4.0, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, NFC) and an analogic movement powered by a solar cell, this device fights also the "programmed obsolescence" of contemporary smartwatches - being designed to last forever like a mechanical watch.
Everyday, we share a big amount of personal data in change of online services, games and tools. The problem is that those data is used by companies to profile us and "manipulate" not only our tastes but also belongings.
Unfortunately, many people are still unaware or tend to minimize the problem.
That's the reason why I choosed to explore this issue and try to give a design thinking solution.
This watch I've conceived is designed it starting from the concept of "human centered technology", an use of technology in which human is helped and not replaced or exploited. This goes against the grain compared to other smart devices on the market, which are instead "data centered".
